Update: Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $4,000. Keep spreading the word to help the Class of ’19 reach their $8,000 goal!
As the University of Michigan Medical School Class of 2019 prepares to take the next step in our medical careers, we want to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit Michigan Medicine patients and families as well as our community of faculty, staff, and learners.
We are seeking to grow our class gift, which supports Michigan Medicine’s Paws4Patients program, and we are inviting you to join us.
Paws4Patients is a facility dog program that provides comfort and joy throughout the hospital. The program has three full-time service dogs — Denver, Anna, and Bindi — who make reassuring bedside visits and offer motivation and assistance to patients preparing for procedures and undergoing therapy and rehabilitation.
Our class is committed to raising $8,000 for Paws4Patients before our Match Day on March 15, 2019. We hope that you will consider making a gift to this unique and uplifting program.
Your contribution will provide maintenance, programming and veterinary care to our current four-legged caregivers, and will help Paws4Patients to grow, potentially expanding to more areas of the hospital and bringing joy to more patients.
Hospital stays can be distressing, but a visit from a service dog like Denver, Anna, or Bindi can make tests, treatments, and procedures a little less frightening for patients.
The Class of 2019 thanks you for your consideration, support, and dedication to making a difference for Michigan Medicine families.
