Hi everyone! For my 30th birthday this year, I would like to raise money for Compassion Without Borders, the non-profit animal rescue in Santa Rosa, California. I will be running the Vista Verde Skyline Ultramarathon on December 1st.
As most of you know, we lost Myrrh earlier this year, and CWOB helped us to (almost) heal our hearts with the adoption of Beba and Tigre.
This is an organization very near and dear to my heart, I absolutely love all of the staff and everything they stand for. Their work saves countless lives and I would like to give back to this outstanding non-profit.
I've ran three different marathons for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and I applaud and appreciate everyone's support who helped me to reach my donation goals. To take it up a notch and really work for your donations towards Compassion Without Borders, this will be:
1. My first ultra-marathon of 50k (31.069 miles)
2. My first long distance trail run
I plan to push myself to train as well and thoroughly as I can to complete this goal. The race is about one week before my 30th birthday on December 10th, and I am really looking forward to crossing the finish line and celebrating my birthday with this ultramarathon under my belt.
I am humbly asking everyone to please consider donating to help further fund this remarkable animal rescue. Their Facebook page often brings me to tears, both sad and happy, and I can't think of a better cause to bring attention to.
Thank you for hearing me out, I'll be updating this page as often as I can to share my progress. My sincerest thanks to all of you for reading this, hope to talk to you all soon.
Alana
