We have heard it said- "We are all in this together" and this is true! All over the world people are experiencing hardship due to the worldwide pandemic. We know we are all weathering this same storm.... but we are definitely not all in the same boat.
Many in the United States have had to lower their standard of living, some have even had to negotiate with creditors for the first time in their lives. Many have had to visit a food pantry or apply for government assistance.
While that can feel horrible, imagine that you already had barely enough to survive. For those who were already living on the bare minimum, the pandemic has brought starvation and even death.
The little boy in red in the cover photo of this campaign is Grace. As our ministry partner in Uganda made his rounds checking on nearby villages, he encountered Grace in his home passed out. Eleos Ministries was able to provide the emergency doctor visit to find out what was wrong with Grace. The doctors determined that the only thing wrong, was malnutrition. We provided the family with food, but for Grace it was too little too late. He passed away just a few weeks later. May his little soul rest in peace.
Our emergency food fund is now empty, and we really don't want to lose any more.
We know that the Lord blesses a cheerful giver. Try to look upon your situation of abundance and find something to give. Our brothers and sisters in Uganda are in desperate need, and we are in a position to help. No matter how small, your gift helps. Please take a look at the following examples of what your money can buy:
$275- provides for a bicycle capable of transporting goods, and a potential source of income
$100- buys a goat to provide sustainable nutrition and income for a family
$66- provides treatment for malaria
$33- provides food for a family for 3 weeks
$15- buys a hen which can provide eggs for many months
With the help of our amazing donors, Eleos Ministiries has been able to provide Many families with sustainable solutions for their family. We would love to have you join us in our mission and prevent further tragedy!
