University of California, Santa Cruz - California Wildfire Relief

1156 High St, Santa Cruz, CA 95064, USA

California has been experiencing large wildfires all across the state. This would be the second year in a row where we have had catastrophic lost due to fires. The fires have hit close to home with multiple in Santa Cruz County this year that prompted evacuations and destruction of property, and injured firefighters. Some of these fires have event threatened our campus. American Red Cross is there to help set up shelter and provide disaster relief and support in terms of food, shelter, financial assistance, and more. However, this cannot be done without the help of generous donors and volunteers. Together, we are hoping to raise money in an effort to support this humanitarian relief. Currently, there are 52,000 people displaced from their home due to Camp Fire. About 880 people are still in shelters across the region. fire is still only 70% contained with over 151,000 acres burned. Recovery for these individuals will take months to years with the emotional trauma lasting a life time due to this historic natural disaster. Help us raise money to donate to those affected by the California Wildfires. description
