Operation Mend: Ten Years Strong!
Operation Mend is only program of its kind in the nation, offering surgical reconstruction, advanced medical speciality care, and mental health treatment for some of the most severely wounded post-9/11 veterans and their families.
Operation Mend is celebrating a decade of service in 2017, and needs your support to meet growing patient demand. Operation Mend treats each and every patient like a member of the family, coordinating all flights and travel, housing, and care during medical visits at no cost to the participants. Each family has the opportunity to be paired with a volunteer "Buddy Family" that provides recreation and support during medical stays.
"We came out here to Operation Mend and immediately felt at home and at ease, like there was a light at the end of the tunnel. As soon as we got here a new world opened up for us. What more could you ask for? It was a second chance."--Laura Dahlman, wife of Army Specialist Louis Dahlman
