Please help us help them in this time of need.
The Unforgotten Souls works tirelessly to prevent the senseless euthanasia of companion animals due to overcrowding in rural southeastern North Carolina. Many of the dogs our group works to save are malnourished, unvaccinated, and often heartworm positive or undersocialized. But they all deserve a second chance.
Our mission is to educate communities on spay and neuter, bring awareness to animal cruelty, and to raise money for basic medical needs. We help connect at-risk dogs with reputable rescue groups. We also pull dogs that have been at the shelter for a long period of time, hoping to better connect them with one of our partners by putting them in a foster home and providing any necessary medical care ourselves.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions have greatly limited what our group can do at this time. Many shelters and rescues are limiting intakes or are closed to the public. Most veterinary services are taking emergencies only at this time. This means that in most cases, even important surgeries like routine spays and neuters cannot be performed.
Just because these services are limited, does not mean that there are not still dogs in need. We are expecting to see a large influx of stray and surrendered dogs being admitted to local shelters once social distancing restrictions are lifted, and we want to be ready and able to help.
We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our cause. Your gift will help provide vaccinations, medications, and spay/neuter services, as well as any other important items these dogs may need while waiting to find their furever homes. Right now all donations could be matched if we are able to raise over $1K from at least 10 different donors, and we get it done quickly. It's a first come first serve matching fundraiser, and only but so much in funds to use. We can't save their lives without your help!
