Under normal circumstances, I would be getting ready to start organizing the 20th Annual (wow) Turkey Bowl - Deerfield’s finest tradition. Unfortunately, these are far from normal circumstances, and as much as I love this event, hosting a touch football game is not something I feel I can do safely (and depending on what restrictions look like one month from now, legally) this year. Instead, we’re going to take a page out of our good friends Jeff and Jori’s book, and turn the disappointment of the postponed event into a positive by using it as an opportunity to get together and give back.
On Thanksgiving morning, we will be at Jaycee Park from 10 - 11am collecting food and other goods for the Lakeview Pantry. At this time, they’re accepting non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items, bathroom supplies, and cleaning supplies. For more details, visit their website: https://www.lakeviewpantry.org/. Please feel free to stop by, drop off some items, and enjoy some (socially distanced) coffee/donuts.
If you won’t be in Deerfield for Thanksgiving but would still like to make a donation, feel free to reach out to me to arrange a drop off in the city, or donate to this fundraiser page. I’ll be matching any donations made to this page up to the goal of $150. Sending love and wishing everyone the best over the holidays. Hope to see you all soon.
