The current COVID19 pandemic has shown us there is a need for communities to band together and help each other out. Just like villages in the past, communities are starting to organize and stand ready to assist others in their Village when needed. This can range from simply helping those who can’t help themselves due to a crisis situation to occasionally checking in on those who may be more at risk of having a crisis occur.
There is also another problem in the world today. By 2030 over 20% of the U.S. population will be seniors over the age of 65. Government authorities and healthcare professionals agree that these older adults will live more healthy, vibrant lives if they can Age in Place. To support the ability to Age in Place, communities across America are banding together to create neighborhood Villages where local volunteers provide simple assistance enabling older adults to remain in their homes. As a result, they are building stronger communities and improving the well-being of the older adults in their community.
Trusted Villages® energizes communities engaged in the Village Movement. Our mission is to provide vital support enabling Village members to manage their local community. This allows Villages to quickly monitor Villagers in their community who may be "at risk" or "in crisis" enabling them to provide support as quickly as possible. It also helps Villages provide services to seniors that enable increased independence, more active social engagements and enhanced purpose of life.
It takes a Village working together - support this movement!
