Adventist education transformed an unschooled 12-year-old shepherd boy from the village of Feresmeda, Ethiopia to earning a master’s degree in education from Andrews University. That opportunity has paid incredible dividends to many young Ethiopians impacted by Pastor Truneh’s service in the field of education.
Many of you share in this experience, whether Pastor Truneh was your principal and teacher at Akaki Adventist School or your dean at Ethiopian Adventist College.
We invite you to help a new generation of Ethiopian children and honor the influence Pastor Truneh has had on thousands of students.
Bahir Dar Adventist School in northwest Ethiopia has a critical need to build a library for its students. The school currently teaches 550 students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The library, however, can only hold about 20 students at a time, which does not meet the government standard for a school of its size. A $180,000 project is underway to build a new 2700 sq. ft. facility with main study area, librarian office, and restrooms. Donors have raised $118,000 so far and are reaching out to supporters of Ethiopian education to meet the rest of the need.
If you have been impacted by the life and work of Pastor Truneh at some point in your life, please help the Bahir Dar Adventist School inspire the next generation of Trunehs with a donation. For those in the US, your donations are tax deductible.
