By now you've probably heard that Truitt is a proud Wither's Wildcat! He is enrolled in the dual language program and had a great Kindergarten year last year! We are grateful that Withers Elementary has a very strong PTA that works hard to provide educational resources for students and support the school in an effort to create a premier learning environment. The money raised in past years has gone toward a new computer lab, technology in the classrooms, better play equipment for the kids, a new library, an auditorium renovation and much more! The PTA also pays for field trips and much needed school supplies. Last year, every student received a kindle reader, purchased by the PTA.
By now you're wondering, how DO they raise all that money? Well, you will not hear us asking you to buy cookie dough or wrapping paper! You're welcome! One of the PTA's biggest fundraisers is the annual Withers Wildcat Prowl 5K and Fun Run! This is a fun community event that brings together neighboring schools, community members, and families while providing the PTA a fundraising mechanism that engages students in healthy activities with the support of their family and friends. Truitt has been training 2-3 times a week at school in PE class and has asked to start training at home. :) He is excited to participate in the Fun Run, and the rest of the family is too! Even Tucker ran last year (with his superhero cape on)! We would greatly appreciate any donation in support of his efforts as well as the efforts of the Withers Elementary PTA as they work to improve health, well-being, and educational outcomes for students! Thank you!
P.S. You can register for the race too! http://witherspta.org/withers/wildcat-prowl-5k/race-registration/
