Since the COVID-19 crisis took hold in Michigan, TrueNorth has seen a significant increase in the need for assistance, especially in the areas of food insecurity and housing instability. Immediately after the statewide school closure, the onsite food pantry and Weekend PowerPack programs nearly doubled the amount of food being distributed to those in need. Soon after, heat and energy programs began to run out of available funding to keep our neighbors safely in their homes. Although moratoriums on evictions and foreclosures are in place, homeless prevention and support services are expected to be pushed to their limits once the moratoriums are lifted.
By making a donation on #GivingTuesdayNow, you empower TrueNorth to meet the ever growing, ever changing needs of those in crisis. Your gift will feed our children and elderly, ensure families stay together in their homes and keep our communities strong. Please, give today!
