TRJ's Story
Annual Funding Campaign
  Jan 20 2020

Transracial Journeys' (“TRJ”) programming supports children, educates parents, and builds community among families who have adopted children transracially. Transracial Journeys' primary program is an annual 4-day summer family camp with age-appropriate activities for children and adult education focused on so many critical areas directly applicable to transracial adoption.

As you begin the new year, consider how you would like to make a positive difference in the world. Making a gift to the TRJ Annual Fund will support critical programming that changes lives. Your gift will strengthen the connections that help children and their families experience safe space to navigate the unique challenges in transracial adoption.

You will connect children with other children from different parts of the country who are transracial adopted. Seeing families like their own helps children develop a positive self-identity and sense of belonging in the world. Children develop key friendships at camp that sustain them throughout the year.

You will connect young adult and adult counselors, many of whom are adoptees, with training that helps them provide guidance to their young campers. This training also supports their own adoption journeys.

You will connect the adoptive parents with leading practitioners in transracial adoption to help them delve into issues of race, class, and culture to better understand and advocate for their children in all aspects of their lives.

Camp makes a difference!  96% report being satisfied with their experience, and 96% would recommend this experience to new families.

Keeping camp affordable for families who would otherwise not be able to attend is one of TRJ's top priorities. Individual donations is what makes the difference. You can help!

Please donate today to Transracial Journey’s Annual Fund 2020!

Please ask if your employer would match your donation.

With gratitude,

Transracial Journeys Board of Directors
