I am loving my time here in Luang Prabang. it is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to date. And I have an opportunity to give something back to the people of Laos who have made me feel so welcome. On Sunday 21st October there is the Run for Children Half Marathon here in Luang Prabang. I am not going to be able to run the half marathon (most of you know my knees will not allow me to do that). However, I am going to run/walk the 7km event at 5am in the morning as the sun rises :0)
Laos has the highest under-5 mortality rate in all Southeast Asia, with one out of 15 children not reaching their fifth birthday.
Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) opened in 2015 and provides free medical care to over 15,000 children each year. Patients and their families often travel long distances, up to 8 hours, to receive the medical care available at LFHC. Every child is treated with high-quality and compassionate medical care, following the motto of "treat every patient as if your own child."
If you would like to donate that would be great. Know that I will be grateful, appreciative and feel blessed. Thank You!
