It’s been almost 4 years since my brother, Blake Simmons, passed away. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him, or ponder on some of his most admirable traits. Blake was a big dreamer, and a fighter. He would set big goals, such as becoming a helicopter pilot, and do whatever it took to achieve his goal.
Which is why I have decided to compete in a triathlon in his honor. Well, not so much decided to, as being called or led to. It is a big goal, and one that will test my resolve.
Multiple Sclerosis was his greatest battle, and to this day there is still no cure. My goal is to raise awareness, and whatever money the good people who knew him decide to donate. Whether a buck, or a Benjamin, it would be greatly appreciated. 100% of your donations will go directly to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I won’t see a penny.
If you can’t donate, a simple share, or a word of encouragement would go a long way. I loathe running with a passion. Running is, in fact, of the devil. So, any help at all would mean the world to me and my family.
Also, if you feel like challenging yourself, or want to participate alongside me, feel free to jump into the race. It will be July 13, in Navasota. I have already registered and begun to train. Details below.
Thank you so much for taking a look, and for helping others find a cure for this disease!
