I watched Ironman Wisconsin in 2002, and was inspired to start training to complete the race myself someday. After learning all three sports, I finished Ironman Wisconsin in 2005 at age 21.
Then, in 2011, I left my corporate job to start Tri 4 Schools, a non-profit that helps kids get active through youth triathlons and learn life skills that will benefit them inside and outside the classroom. We've now helped over 13,000 kids, giving back $300,000 in funding to help schools keep our kids moving.
On September 9th, I will be participating in Ironman Wisconsin again - 13 years later - to celebrate all that has changed in my life since 2005, and all the lives that continue to be changed through Tri 4 Schools.
I hope you'll help me continue to ensure that Tri 4 Schools can provide opportunities for all kids to be active, and create a healthier generation of kids that can do whatever they set their minds to.
