Trevor Gagnier was a coach of mine along with thousands of others within the Freetown-Lakeville and surrounding South Shore MA communities growing up. The impact he has had on our youth and community is immeasurable. Playing for Coach Gags, you build an immediate comfortability with him and just know he is in your corner no matter if you're player 1 or player 15.
Now more than ever, Coach Gags and his family need us in his corner. After a car accident left him with lingering headaches, Coach went in for an MRI where a 5cm brain tumor was found. Going through surgery to have as much removed as possible, it was confirmed to be a Grade 4 Glioblastoma. Having signed up for an Ironman 70.3 and gone through 16 weeks of training to have it cancelled, I found this as a great fundraising opportunity to run it rogue through Lakeville and the surrounding towns in honor of Team Trev. The 70.3 miles will take place on Saturday 9/19 with more details to come. All announcements can be followed on Facebook and Instagram at Tri for Trev.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO DANA FARBER AND THE NATIONAL BRAIN TUMOR SOCIETY IN TEAM TREV'S NAME
The help and support the Gagnier family has gained from these two organizations has been amazing and every little bit helps Trev, the Gagnier family, and those who may face this devastating condition in the future.
Thank you and in the words of a Coach Gags, "Gotta Battle"
