Children with special needs in Ukraine are the most undervalued and ignored in their society. They are shut away in orphanages. These orphanages often struggle to get them the medical treatment they desperately need.
Vika is currently in hospital as recent blood tests indicate she is anemic. The hospital asked if we could purchase the medications she urgently needs for her treatment.
Vika is 4 years old and has Phenylketonuria (PKU). PKU is an inborn error of metabolism that results in decreased metabolism of the amino acid phenylalanine. Vika lives in an orphanage.
