I am thrilled to be running my second Boston Marathon for the Travis Roy Foundation.
Last year with the help of friends and family I was able to reach both my fundraising goal and complete the marathon. This year I am hoping to both increase my speed and increase my donations.
I would love to qualify in my age group by decreasing My time by 10 minutes and raise an additional 10,000 over last year. I am grateful Travis has given me this opportunity and I am hopeful I will remain healthy and injury free during the next 20 weeks.
Last year I was fortunate to train with Rachel Kase on Team Travis Roy who inspired me to run fast and train hard because of her energy and youth as well as her story. Her brother is the same age as my oldest daughter and he tragically suffered a spinal cord injury at a young age. Her presence gave me another perspective on the effect spinal cord injuries have on families and loved ones. She is unable to run with me for 2020 but she will continue to support me with fundraising ideas and motivate me to train. Her brother and family will still empower me as I run for The Travis Roy Foundation.
Those of us physically able to run are so fortunate. We should never take the ability to move for granted. Please help me meet both my goals in 2020 by running to help others move forward. I welcome a running buddy for a short or long run during the next 20 weeks. I am grateful for all donations and would appreciate your sharing my page and Travis ‘ story with others.
Thank you for your support!!
