This year has been a rough year for our transportation van. It is getting up there in the miles and things are starting to break down as they do with all older vehicles. We've had to replace tires, do electrical system tests, replace our battery....twice! After several jump starts we took it in again to find that the new battery was bad, luckily it was replaced under warranty. We've also had to replace the alternator, belts, idler pully and tensioners. We needed a new radiator, and needed to replace all of the senors on our tires as well as have our anti-lock brake system worked on.
Since summer, we have sunk over $1,400.00 into keeping this running safely for our staff, volunteers and animals.
Our main reason for needing this van to keep running safely is so that we can transport animals to the veterinarian and back, most specifically so we can get them spayed and neutered so they can be adopted.
So we are trying to raise money to cover the costs of the current repairs as well as put a little seed money aside so that whatever gets thrown our way in 2020 we will be prepared for! All money from this fund will be used towards our van and nothing more. If you would like to donate money to the shelter for other reasons, please visit our website at www.adamscountyhumanesociety.org.
We thank you in advance for your support!! Your help will help us ensure that we are able to get animals safely to and from the vet and get them adopted sooner!! It's no fun canceling surgeries because our van is broken down once again!!
