This morning, tragedy struck in Nepal as a massive fire engulfed the Super Gas Industry of Buhabari in Birgunj sub municipality. Fire fighters and police fought for over nine hours to control the inferno despite the threat of exploding gas cylinders.
Sadly, that effort claimed the lives of fire fighters Yadav Adhikari and Madhusudhan Mishra who burned to death. Fire fighter Sanjeev Nepal sustained severe burns over 80% of his body and a fellow fire fighter was also severely injured with burns over 30% of his body.
Both are hospitalized in Nepal but Nepal does not have the facilities to treat such serious burns. Their hope is in New Delhi, less than a two hour flight, where there are hospitals with special burn units. In Delhi, these two heroes have a chance of survival and recovery. We want to ensure that they have that chance.
The Soarway Foundation is partnering with the municipal and regional governments to raise funds to pay for the $30,000 medevac cost and the estimated $100,000 treatment costs.
We need your help to save the lives of these two firefighters. Please, consider making a tax-deductible donation today so that we can help. Time is of the essence and we need your support!
