This campaign is dedicated to accelerating the development of a therapy for my close family member and hundreds of thousands of children around the world like him. When his condition worsened dramatically several years ago, I decided to devote my life to finding a cure for him (pictured with me, when we were kids). Years of grueling lab work at Harvard Medical School alongside world-renowned scientists and clinicians have led me to conceive a potentially pathbreaking therapy for him and found a nonprofit to accelerate its development.
However, despite all the enthusiasm our research has received, time is not on our side. The current pace of research funding is not designed for circumstances where progress must be made rapidly. To stand a chance to cure children around the globe, I turn to you.
With today's standard of care, there is no end in sight for the suffering of my close family member and hundreds of thousands like him. Every year, thousands of children continue to undergo life-threatening brain surgeries and risky treatments that leave them with nothing but deep scars and dwindling hopes. A cure would mean the difference between life and death, and between pain and relief for patients and families like mine.
