In June I'll be joining the squad from Rooster Racing (www.roosterracing.org) on an epic adventure riding through Luxembourg, Germany, France and Belgium. Along with the other Roosters I'll be challenging myself to ride 425+ miles over 6 days. Now for many of the Roosters this is a piece of cake, but for me this will be more miles than I have done in the 8 months from August '17 through February '18 when I signed up.
So, for me this will be a big challenge to say the least.
Yes, I'm doing this as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride through some amazing roads in Europe, but I am also doing this to raise money for a few of my favorite charities - more on that below.
See Rooster Racing is an international charity organization that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities all over the world.
Their moto and mission is to: "Do Good, Ride Hard, Live Well"
I think these are all things we can all get behind.
The "Do Good" portion - help others
The "Ride Hard" portion - ride more than you every have in a week
The "Live Well" portion - well that's easy :-)
Like I said this is not a request to help pay for my trip, this is a request for help raising funds for a few of my favorite charities:
NICA - National Interscholastic Cycling Association (http://www.nationalmtb.org/) This is a great organization that help get more kids on bikes through their High School Mountain Biking leagues in 20+ states around the US.
Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation (http://www.alzinfo.org/) The leading foundation helping trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's.
Livestrong (https://www.livestrong.org/) The foundation started by LA, the charity provides support to those impacted by cancer, their families and others looking to support someone battling cancer.
What I'm asking is that you make a small donation to one of these three charities or if you prefer one of your choosing. If you donate to your own prefered charity all I ask is that you send me an email or message with the amount you donated so I can add it to the overall total.
Crowdwise only allows you to select one charity for each campaign so I have set up 3 different campaigns - one for each charity.
