My name is Tony West, I'm a 3rd generation police officer with 18 years of service. My enthusiasm for endurance sports began in 2014 after training and completing my 1st half marathon race. I've completed many races since then, but discovered my true passion is triathlon. Now, well into my 40's, I've made triathlon a lifestyle and hope to pass on my decision of healthy living to both my daughters as they grow older. As I've been part of the triathlon community for several years now, I quickly discovered that athletes will race for more than themselves. I too, found a desire to dedicate my passion and fitness to a worthy cause in the hopes of making a change. I had no idea where to begin or for what cause I should race for. Then, as if it was meant to be, I discovered Team BlueLine while scrolling through Facebook. I immediately checked out the team website and contacted the Admin with interest on becoming a part of the racing team.
Team BlueLine is a Non-Profit Foundation with an overall goal of raising funds for the families of police officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Team BlueLine is made up of active/retired law enforcement officers and their families, who compete in endurance based racing across the country. With each race we finish, the athlete will cross the finish line displaying the Thin Blue Line American Flag. The Blue represents the officer and the courage found within. The Black serves as a reminder to our fallen brother and sister officers. The Line is what police officers protect. Being able to race for Team BlueLine and knowing I'm making a difference either financially or emotionally is a very humbling experience. Please consider making a donation to our cause and helping the family of an officer who has given the ultimate sacrifice.
