Thomas Edward Harner was born on December 8, 2016 in Moscow, Idaho. Days after his birth, he was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This diagnosis meant months away from home--time which was spent undergoing chemotherapy, several surgeries and line placements, hospital and PICU stays due to unforeseen infections and complications, blood product transfusions, several immunotherapy trials and eventually, a bone marrow transplant in Seattle. After undergoing all available treatment options, he passed away at Sacred Heart on April 10, 2019, just a little over two years old. Though throughout his short life he had a compromised immune system, Tommy was very much at home in his jogging stroller, participating in local 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. His family hopes to keep his memory Tommy Strong and through him, bring strength and hope to others still fighting pediatric cancer.
