As most of you know, running the Spring Lake 5 has been on my bucket list for a long time.
This year, I not only have the opportunity to cross it off the list, but to raise money for someone to whom I have a Holy Cross and very personal connection. I'll be running as a charity runner to raise money for the John Taylor Babbit Foundation, which is named after the nephew of my great Holy Cross friend, Kathy Taylor Connolly, '77.
John was a victim of sudden cardiac death at the age of 16 while playing basketball. The Foundation's goal is to help prevent sudden cardiac deaths by: installing defibrillators in public places, proposing legislation to support placement of AEDs, establishing heart clubs at colleges and high schools to raise awareness and, lastly, to support research on genetic cardiac disorders that contribute to sudden cardiac death.
Please support the Foundation by supporting me in the Spring Lake 5.
