For three years I have been employed at LSF Health Systems, where we work to improve the system of substance abuse and mental health services. I am passionate about this work because in my own family I have loved ones who have struggled with addiction and depression and I know how hard it is to overcome. I also know how much of a difference one person can make with a kind word, a hug, a message that you care.
This Giving Tuesday please join me in supporting LSF Health Systems to offer life changing interventions to people experiencing challenges with mental health and or substance use conditions. Your donation will allow us to:
Educate communities on mental illness – reducing the fear and stigma people with mental illness experience on a daily basis
Provide suicide prevention initiatives to help communities and schools learn to recognize the signs and know what to do to reach out to someone who is hurting, and maybe save a life
Train Certified Peer Specialists to enable individuals who have achieved recovery to provide a unique hand up to others. Having “walked in those shoes” is a powerful connection that cannot be replicated and allows peers to use their experiences to help others
Invest in the development, expansion and replication of innovative practices
