We are living through a global crisis. As our circumstances change, fear and uncertainty can leave us feeling alone and exhausted. An unexpected pregnancy, even in normal times can feel this way. But it doesn't have to.
The Pregnancy Resource Center of Athens County works to create a culture where all individuals and families find the support and care they need to make life-affirming choices.
We offer compassionate and confidential education and medical services to individuals facing an unexpected pregnancy or a sexual health crisis. We provide for the material needs of our clients by gifting infant and maternity supplies. We advocate for our clients and ensure that they are connected to the support services they need and request. We respect our clients and their choices--we are not here to judge or profit from them.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, needs are still arising.
We continue to provide pregnancy and parenting education through our distance learning program and we are now offering pregnancy tests and options information via telehealth. Just prior to the pandemic, we invested in new laptops and an electronic medical record. This proved providential as it has allowed us to continue to interact with our clients via virtual visits and telehealth. However...
We need your donations to help us continue to serve. Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so that we can continue our operations in these uncertain times.
“Being a college student that is with child was a difficult experience, but thanks to the PRC, I felt supported through every step.” This young woman’s journey began with a pregnancy test at the Center. On the day of her last visit before returning to her hometown to have the baby, she cried with gratitude. Being able to prepare for birth and parenting with knowledge and baby items she earned in our program made her choice a beautiful reality.
“The staff was very friendly and felt like family. We were able to discuss all our concerns about pregnancy with them.” As an international student, this mom repeatedly expressed how grateful she was to have a support system at the PRC. Learning to navigate a different medical system from your home country, and not having your mother and family around to help you can be challenging.
TOGETHER WE CAN support a culture of life even in times of uncertainty.
