Where there’s a wish, there’s a way.
Each year, Make-A-Wish grants more than 15,000 wishes to children across the U.S. For children battling a critical illness, a wish can be a turning point in their lives. They do more than just bring these children joy and hope. Research has shown that children who were granted a wish were also more likely to have fewer unplanned hospital and emergency room visits.
April 29th is World Wish Day. In honor of the occasion, TODAY WITH HODA AND JENNA is launching Wish Week in order to recognize some of these amazing families. Among the stories we plan to share is that of 8-year-old Mira and her wish to become a model for the day at this year’s Los Angeles Fashion Week. We’ll also share the story of Make-A-Wish alum Kayla, and how the wish she received 20 years dramatically impacted her life.
On average, Make-A-Wish grants a wish every 34 minutes. Since 1980, more than 315,000 children in the U.S. and its territories have been impacted by a wish. By supporting Make-A-Wish, you can make more life-changing wishes possible and help fuel a child’s fight against a critical illness. Together, we transform lives, one wish at a time.
