Approximately 50,000 people live in Thorncliffe and Flemingdon, primarily in high density rental apartments.
Thorncliffe has the lowest income per household in Toronto. Families have on average 3-4 children and often share a single rental apartment with another family. Approximately 6,000 seniors also live in the community, with many living at or below poverty levels.
You can help today by making a donation if you are in a position to do so:

Here's an example of a family struggling to secure access to sufficient food, and why your help is needed:
Miriam and her mother, who speaks no English, and their three children are Syrian refugees. Miriam took English classes at TNO and obtained a job as a cleaning lady which paid her in cash. Her mother took care of the children who were enrolled in Thorncliffe Park Public School, Canada's largest Elementary School. COVID- 19 arrived and the kids are out of school and miss the meals provided at the school. Miriam as a cleaning lady, cannot work from home. She has never filed a tax return and thus is ineligible for special government COVID-19 benefits. After rent, utilities and medicines there is no money for food. The family is struggling and came to TNO for help. There are numerous cases like this in the community
On behalf of the Thorncliffe and Flemingdon community: Thank you for making a difference.
