I’ve recently started volunteering for (and running for) an amazing local nonprofit called Title IX Girls.
Using preventative interventions, group counseling, reflections, and running, Title IX Girls is a master at combining physical, mental, and emotion health to empower young women. Hearing that an organization like this exists is like music to my ears—we need to support our youth in a multidimensional way and early on. I’m happy to join their team and run for a cause I care about.
A donation to my run can help sponsor girls who need this support but may not have the resources available. Please help me reach my $500 goal to Title IX Girls Run to Remember on May 26th!
TITLE IX GIRLS RUNNING CLUB INC wrote:
Title IX Girls Running Club is a community based, tax exempt, educational running club for preteen and adolescent girls. The running club uses the principles of running to strengthen the connections among emotional, psychological and physical health in girls ages 9 to 15.
WHY GIRLS…We think of the whole girl as a multi faceted social, emotional, and physical being who deserves activities that recognize her developmental stage. Our principal program the Whole Girl Workout was created to bridge the divide between a traditional recreational sporting environment and an educational experience of a clinical setting. This unique and comprehensive approach to educating the whole girl in mind, body and spirit uses running as the instrument in which to connect the three.
