Hello all!
First off, thank you to those who generously donated on Giving Blueday! Unfortunately, when the totals were being reviewed by the University of Michigan Philanthropy team for matched donations, it was discovered that Timmy Global Health did not qualify as an organization that could recieve funds through the Giving Blueday site due to some technicalities and legalities that were initally overlooked. While this was a sad realization, there is still hope that Timmy can recieve most or all of what we raised on Giving Blueday with your help! If you were directed to this page by email, it is because you were refunded or will soon be refunded your Giving Bluday donation. Although there is no obligation, our hope is that you reallocate your donation here! Thanks for all of your help and support to our organization in the past, and here's to continuing Timmy's mission!
About Timmy:
The advocacy committee advocates health awareness on campus and in our community. Our major project is the flu shot initative which increased access to the flu shot. We also have a sunglass intiative that we will bring to the Dominican Republic for the banana plantation workers for eye protection.
The fundraising committee focuses on organizing events to raise funds for medical supplies for our partnered community in Mao, Dominican Republic. Our year highlights so far include our annual Glow Run 5k, a benefit dinner, and bake sales. In the coming months we are looking forward to our Muffin Mondays, and our Valentine's Sing-a-grams!
The service committee organizes and are well aquainted in our community. Volunteering at Creature Conservency, the VA Hospital, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and more!
The trip committee works on maintaining and forming relationships with physicians here within our communities and in the communities in the Dominican Republic. We organize a vitmain drive and other medications to the yearly medical brigade in August in Mao, Dominican Republic.
