Hi, everyone! I'm April. Back in 2016, I donated about 13 or 14 inches of my hair to Children with Hair Loss after raising $425 for This Star Won't Go Out. This year, I want to increase my fundraising for TSWGO. By the time I cut about 10 to 12 inches of my hair in the first week of May, I want to raise at least $1000!
This Star Won't Go Out -- based in Quincy, Massachusetts -- was founded in 2011 in memory of Esther Earl. In that time, TSWGO has helped hundreds of families with gifts totaling over $450,000. These gifts go to families suffering from financial hardship related to childhood cancer, helping with expenses not covered by insurance such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, and travel costs. TSWGO is the charity closest to my heart, and you can find more information about them at tswgo.org.
Children With Hair Loss is a non-profit organization that provides human hair replacement at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. The cause of hair loss can, among other things, be the result of cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania, or burns. You can learn more about CWHL at childrenwithhairloss.us.
Thank you to anybody who donates to or shares this fundraiser. To see some of the impact you can have by donating to TSWGO, check out some of their Star Kids. By donating, you're alleviating some financial stress for families and allowing them to spend more time together. Thank you for reading, and to have your own Esther Effect, please make a difference in someone's day by telling them how much you love them. This Star Won't Go Out. We won't let it.
