A note from Thor!
Yeah! That’s right! Me, the work horse (or dog) of the Thor/Dean team.
Since I spend most of my days taking the old man behind me from place to place I really know how to walk and walk, and walk, …!
And since I’m doing all this walking, I might as well do it for a really good and useful purpose. So, that’s why I’m asking you to become a member of my team, the THORNADOS, and sponsor me as I join other walkers (two and four legged) on Sunday, May 19 as a part of the Walk to End Elder Isolation, sponsored by Friendship Works, a wonderful organization which provides a variety of activities and programs for elders living alone or in formalized settings.
The Epidemic of Elder Isolation
Social isolation and loneliness hurt the heart and soul of seniors. Elder isolation is now considered an epidemic, with the health dangers equal to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
This is unacceptable. You can lead the way to help end this growing problem in Boston. How?
By joining my team, you will be helping Friendship Works provide the programs, services, and human connections which offer alternatives to elder isolation and loneliness.
The Mighty (tired) Thor.
