Are you around pregnant women, pregnant yourself, or planning on becoming pregnant? Have you heard of CMV (cytomegalovirus)? This potentially devastating infection is the most preventable cause of disabilities in babies and only 7% of women in the U.S. have ever even heard of it.
I have several friends and colleagues who have babies affected by CMV resulting in disabilities such as deafness, brain damage, and paralysis. I’m passionate about the mission of the National CMV Foundation (nationalcmv.org) to educate women of childbearing age about CMV—so passionate in fact, that I serve on the board for the foundation.
Join me, many of my friends, and the National CMV Foundation to help support education campaigns and research in an effort to empower women to take steps to prevent contracting CMV during pregnancy, help discover vaccines, and further efforts in effective treatments.
