It all begins with a vision.

Thinking Huts is on a mission to close the opportunity gap and increase global access to education by building 3D-printed schools. We seek to leverage humanitarian-driven technology solutions to build schools in partnership with communities where infrastructure is needed most. We are fundraising to build our first 3D printed school in Madagascar. This is only the beginning. Join us.
According to UNESCO, over 260 million children do not have access to education. In Madagascar, 60% of the 1.3 million primary-age students are not enrolled in school due to long travel distances, severe overcrowding, and insufficient investment in education infrastructure. Students often walk upwards of 5 miles to the nearest school, and even then, the schools are often overcrowded.
It is estimated that there are over 22,000 schools needed in Madagascar. That will take over 7000 years if 3 schools are built each year using traditional methods. If we leveraged 3D printing, we could do something about it.
3D printing allows us to decrease construction time from months to days, lower costs with economies of scale, and reduce construction waste. We can build more schools in less time. Instead of 7000 years, we could fill the infrastructure gap in 40 years if we printed 48 schools a year and continued to scale depending on the number of printers we have.
How Are We Different?
By building 3D printed schools, we support technology transfer, employ local labor, and foster local partnerships. While we focus on streamlining the process to build schools more efficiently, local partners will oversee the maintenance and supply of teachers.
Aligning ourselves with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 9, we support quality education, industrial innovation & infrastructure.
Help us stay on track to build our 3D printed school in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar, this November. We are halfway to our initial 350,000 goal but we need your help to raise the rest. 100% of your donation will help fund our 3D printer, construction, cover transportation costs, and ensure that our team can be on the ground to interact with the local community while working alongside members to construct our school.
We would greatly appreciate it if you would share and donate to our campaign.
Thank you for your support!
