In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Twin brothers Nikita and David were born prematurely at 6.5 months in . Both boys spent over 3 months in intensive care. To fund their hospital stay, their parents sold everything in their home.
Nikita and David were diagnosed with cerebral palsy and various other medical conditions.
In 2015, their father left the family. Now their mother is raising them alone. She fights each and every day to get the boys what they need to thrive and grow.
They have the opportunity to attend an intensive two month long course at a rehabilitation center in a different region. We need your help to raise the funds needed so the brothers can attend this course. Please help us reach our goal!
