Our organization, Easter's Faith Formation Center, was born of a desire to witness to, and teach about, truth, beauty, and goodness. To lead those who seek to that freedom of true happiness, for which every heart searches.
Twenty-three years before we started our ministry to provide reliable resources faithful to the teaching Magisterium of the Church, Cardinal Karol Wojtyla visited America. From the east to the west coast, for six-weeks he traveled the country. As the trip ended, before leaving America, he spoke of the "coming confrontation". Two years later, in 1978, he was proclaimed the first Polish Pope, and took the name John Paul II.
His warning, in 1976, wasn't recognized as prophecy, but looking back it appears as one.
“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through.
I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully.
We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel.
This confrontation lies within the plans of divine Providence; it is a trial which the whole Church...must take up.
It is a trial...a test of 2,000 years of culture and Christian civilization with all of its consequences for human dignity, individual rights, human rights and the rights of nations.”
Since 2011 our non-profit Easter’s Faith Formation Center (EFFC), an extension of Easter's Catholic Books and Gifts, has provided an extraordinary service to the Sacramento-area community. Hundreds of participants have joined in as we study, analyze, and discuss history, Christian literature, philosophy, moral theology, and current events, always emphasizing truth. Not opinion. Particular attention is paid to the teaching Magisterium, the Doctors and Fathers of the Church, and Scripture.
And never is there a charge for attending these exceptional classes. All are welcome, any educational level, any age.
This year has brought unique challenges to our nation, our citizens, friends and family. Now more than ever we need to dig deep for truth, to explore the reasons for our belief, and how we have arrived at this strange, and often hostile, new world. The restrictions imposed on us due to the pandemic have greatly diminished our ability to continue meeting and offer Christian fellowship.
However, classes have continued and attendance indicates this venue is an answer to prayer for those who have been isolated, and confused, sheep without a shepherd.
Now we need your help. We ask you sincerely to consider an ongoing contribution to this important organization. Or a one-time gift to assist us in our work.
This is what your contribution will support:
Over the years we've been privileged to bring to this area the best teachers, professors, presenters, and authors to enrich old and young alike. Two of our regular class offerings, Moral Theology-The Sources of Christian Ethics, and Theology-A Study of the Early Church, Tertullian's Apology, have resumed, and we are diligently working to resume Bible study, and bring special events back to the area. The Early Church class is our initial attempt at live streaming, beginning the first week of August.
John Hamlon, M.A.; Ana Ramirez-Palmer, M.A.; and Rev. Edward Pepka, Ph.D, are our local, returning instructors.
This is a partial list of those we've been privileged to host over the past 10 years.
