EDIT: 10/19/2020 WOW! In just one month we have raised over 2k. We want to help Bola. The video attached is the compelling story of Bolanyle Edwards and her sacrifice to raise her three young grandchildren ages 2, 7, and 8. Bolanyle Edwards is raising three young children all by herself. Could you imagine being retired, but forced back to work, raising young children, all by yourself, in the midst of a global pandemic!? Please help us! WE are helping Bolanyle with the holidays this year, ensuring her three grandchildren have all the food and gifts they so vitally need. We need your support. WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU. Bola is also in need of permanent housing; if you have any resources please contact us.
With all that is happening in the world, we must not forget about those who need us the most: poverty-stricken children and the elderly.
Art, music education, and entertainment courses have been slashed from nearly every school budget in areas where children need it the most. Now, the monstrously devastating global pandemic COVID-19 has shut schools down nationwide, forcing poverty-stricken children to stay at home with no resources, or social interaction. This affects their mental and emotional development as well as their ability to receive the academic instruction they deserve.
A Stanford study shows that music engages areas of the brain which are involved with paying attention, making predictions, and updating events in our memory— all proven to improve academics. Music education is vital for a child who is striving to live a full life and have access to their full potential. It creates an opportunity; it’s a springboard to employment, which provides income. Every child has a human right to access this type of education, yet most don't. This is a major problem, but we have solutions.
The Donovan's Venom INC., 501(c)(3), provides FREE virtual music education and holiday resources to youth ages 6 -18 who live in impoverished communities; The youth we so often forget. Since we are dedicated to taking music, art, and entertainment to those who need it the most, we are adding a critical demographic to our registry, senior citizens. So many of our seniors (60+) live in nursing homes, with no family or loved ones to care for them. They get very lonely and feel forgotten. Not on our watch! we’re bringing music and community to our elders as well because music is shown to “increase mobility, coordination, and overall cognitive abilities”.
They need us and we need you. Will you help us? Donate to our cause today.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! The demand for services and resources are high, it requires your support. Donate to our cause.
