Dear Friends and Family,
I am doing a school project about water stewardship. The final step in my project is to fundraise to help New York City waterways. Plants and animal life are in danger of pollution and every time it rains combined sewage overflow floods the streets, running into the waterways. A friend and I want to raise money to help this cause by donating to the Nature Conservancy. To raise money, we started what we call, “Running for Water.”
On Friday, May 25, my friend Hazel and I are going to Prospect Park and "Running For Water' to raise funds. Our idea is to run laps around the Prospect Park waterways -- half mile laps that pass waterfalls, follow the creak and circle the pond. We were hoping to get our friends and family to sponsor us for every lap we run. For example, you could donate X-amount per lap and then put a limit on the total you're willing to contribute. This way, we would get that amount of money for every lap without going over what you are comfortable with donating.
We are hoping you will support us with saving New York City waterways!
