Restore Hope of a Brighter Future to Individuals on the Brink of Giving Up
One of the most important facets of somebody's life is what they do with the majority of their time—a job. But disadvantaged job seekers with a checkered past who are often transitioning out of homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, or anger management encounter wave after wave of opposition, both from within themselves and from external circumstances. As rejection after rejection piles on, job seekers find their motivation waning and hope for a better future barely hanging on.
To stand in the transition gap where thousands of individuals fall through the cracks, WorkFaith Connection in Houston equips them with the skills and beliefs to gain employment and lead healthy, productive and spiritually rich lives. The organization accomplishes this through its renown 8-day job readiness boot camp and longterm retention and advancement programs. The boot camp teaches participants in small groups of 12-15 the soft skills, values, and attitudes critical for workplace success. And it works strikingly well.
Out of nearly 4,000 people who have completed the 8-day Job Search Boot Camp since 2007, more than three out of four have become employed after attending the Boot Camp. In addition to job attainment, WorkFaith Connection participants share stories about restoring marriages, parents returning to their kids, and relationships being restore through spiritual love and vitality.
Here are some stats to prove the model works:
- There have been 4,785 graduates since 2007
- The average wage of a WorkFaith graduate is $14.08
- 78% employment rate of WorkFaith graduates
- 65% of participants are employed within 90 days of graduating
- 72% of graduates are still employed a year later
