For the 6th Memorial Day in a row, I'll gladly be spending the holiday rucking 60+ miles with people far greater than I. The stories and memories shared during this journey motivate me throughout the year. I wouldn't miss it.
This year, I've opted to support The Summit Project charity orginization. Previously I've focused my fundraising on organizations dedicated to empowering our nation's veterans. Now I'd like to support those focused on honoring and remembering the fallen.
The Summit Project is a Living Memorial supported by an ever growing family of thousands of dedicated and patriotic individuals who all have personally invested in providing a community for the families of the departed and a mechanism for sharing their stories.
They are a nationally recognized, 501(c)3 service organization with a special way of paying tribute to the fallen service members who have died in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. They ensure heroes are NOT Forgotten by carrying their memorial stones on tribute hikes and carrying their stories for a lifetime.
