Hello Friends! This year, on April 19th, I will be participating in the 26.2 mile Tough Ruck event, fueled by the Boston Marathon and in partnership with the Boston Athletic Association and the National Park Service.
“Why?,” you might be asking yourself...
I’ve chosen to train, fundraise, and walk the 26.2 mile course complete with rucksack carrying names of our Fallen comrades as a way to honor those Heroes - military, police, firefighter, and EMT alike - who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to their communities, Families, and our Nation. By putting boots to pavement for those who cannot, we let the loved ones of those Heroes know that they are never forgotten, while paying respect to their service and sacrifice.
In addition to homage, the Tough Ruck is also a fundraising event. The cause is the Military Families Foundation, the official charity of Tough Ruck. The money raised will provide much needed support for Families of the Fallen, as well as Military Families in need. If you are able to help, you and your contribution will be providing a lifeline to countless others, and your generosity is greatly appreciated! I am grateful for your help in supporting this cause dear to me, and my efforts to honor fellow servicemen and servicewomen and their Families. Thank you!
