Help us support our cats and kittens during this time of need.
Every day, Boone County Animal Care, a 501c(3) non-profit rescue in Columbia, MO works to support the community we serve by doing Trap Neuter Return. Now, our cats and kittens need your help. Food costs for our kitties have risen by 25% or $9 per bag. This is a big expense! Because of the shelter in place, we are not getting donations for canned or dry food. Our organization is committed to ensuring that our stray and feral cats are healthy and have medical care during the coronavirus crisis. While we are not routinely taking healthy cats during this time, we are still taking quite a few moms and kittens, and sick or injured ferals.
One of those cats is Phoenix. He was a found stray in very bad shape. His medical bills have already surpassed $800! He was severally matted when we first got him a week ago. The vet shaved him and performed bloodwork. Phoenix is thought to be about 10 years old and was diagnosed with mycoplasma. Then this week, Phoenix sustained an abscess on his head, his body unable to fight off infection. So he went back to the vet to have the abscessed drained. Now he is on 3-4 different antibiotics. Phoenix deserves a chance to recover and find a forever home. He is a super sweet boy who just needs a lot of support right now.
We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our cats and kittens. Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so we can purchase essential food, litter, medicines, and pay our vet bills. Help keep our cats and kittens safe and healthy so they can eventually be adopted into loving homes.
