Dear Friends and Family,
When the boys and I were talking about how best to honor their Dad, we knew that we wanted to do something that would have an impact and make a difference. Supporting Alzheimer’s and dementia research is very important, but Ron would have wanted to do something impactful for us, so we could manage through our grief, specifically for the boys. No one ever teaches us how to navigate through our feelings and the process of grieving.
Jacob and Lucas remember their Dad saying, “You only have one family so don’t take them for granted”. There was a tenacity and strength about him. He was committed and would do anything to protect us from harm or hurt. When I introduced Experience Camps to them, they were touched by the organization and their dedication. The camper’s testimonies showed firsthand the good being done, evident in the children’s smiles, and when they talked about their experience and how it helped them deal with the grief of losing a loved one. This is what resonated with us as a family and has made us great supporters.
To continue with that effort, we are launching a tribute campaign in honor of Ron. We selected this picture because it is the essence of him. He loved fishing and being on the beach. It is how he would want us to remember him. Please help us in keeping his memory alive by sending children in need to this very special place.
Thank you in advance for your support to us and to Experience Camps.
Marianna, Jacob and Lucas

Experience Camps are nationally recognized summer camps for grieving children, ages 9-17, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or caregiver. We give grieving children experiences that will change their lives forever. With nearly 5 million children in the US currently grieving the loss of a close family member, the need is enormous.
Experience Camps operates summer camp programs in 10 locations nationwide, and provides ongoing opportunities throughout the year for support, connection and community. We reframe the experience of grief and empower our campers to develop invaluable coping skills that enable them to move forward with their lives.
Since 2009, Experience Camps has transformed the lives of thousands of children by bringing light to the profound darkness of grief. We offer a community where kids can laugh, cry, play, create, honor the memory of the person who died or forget the grief that weighs them down. It's a home away from home. And just about everyone will tell you... "It's the best week of the year."
