We swim in honor of people that we have lost. The lake swim was started because we lost a Friend and Brother who left a mark on our Camp's history that will never be forgotten. Andrew Curry Green is an inspiration to everyone, not only to those who knew him when he was with us but the newer generations who hear stories about him. The Camp Andrew and we all call home, Wah-Tut-Ca, has a spirit that can't be found anywhere else. The Friends and Brothers that keep this spirit alive are cherished and remembered.
I swim to remember my Friends and Brothers who have left the good soil of Wah-Tut-Ca. Our Uncle George left us over 1 year ago now and we miss him every single day. But I know he is always here with my Brothers and Sisters and I. Uncle George will be with my team and I when I swim across the lake, I swim to remember him. Craig Ryder left us 14 years ago, but has not been forgotten. Craig is a legend by his actions and will be with us as we take on the impossible tasks of life. I swim to remember and honor all of our Friends and Brothers who can't be with us today. As we all say and know in our hearts, Keep The Spirit Alive, and that's what I will do as I swim and as my team supports me.
