Hello friends, I have been running the Falmouth Road Race for a number of years now to help raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation -- PRF. Many of you have supported me and PRF in the past. Now I am running the Boston Marathon for PRF -- the first time for me and the first time for PRF -- and I am asking for your help again.
This past week I started training and I ran 26. 2 miles, the length of a marathon. However, I did it over five days (5, 5, 6.2, 5 and 5 miles). By April 20, 2020, I will need to be able to do it all at one time, and not over five days. I am confident I will have the time needed to train and to accomplish this goal. However, time is more precious for some than for others. For these kids living with Progeria, time is treasured. The money we raise to support PRF will be used to find a cure and ensure that the time we take for granted is no more precious to them than it is to us.
I am inspired by the memory of Sam Berns and by the strengh and beauty of each of the kids living with Progeria. With this inspiration and your support, I intend to give all I have to complete the training and to complete the race. Please give and give these kids all the time they could ever ask for.
