Team Therapion Needs Your Help!
[This campaign is now closed.]
Therapeutic horseback riding is proven to help people with disabilities and life challenges. It can improve their cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being. Our 9 heroic horses have supported hundreds of students in the six-country area around Greater Lafayette since Therapeion was founded in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.
Our students and their families love our programs — many of them have been returning for classes for years. They have formed deep relationships with our horses and we take great pride in being part of the amazing growth we witness in each of our students. Our tuition is kept low intentionally to make sure families in need can afford the therapy. Therefore, we rely heavily on community giving to make sure our horses are well-fed and cared for properly.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit us severely as we had to cancel spring classes and several planned fund-raising events. We burnt through our limited “rainy day” savings to keep the horses in good shape for summer classes.
Without more support, our financial situation does not allow us to continue caring for our horses for the coming year. Our students need the horses and thus we need your help NOW!
4 ways to help Therapeion’s heroic herd:
1. Click the button to Make a donation now.
We suggest $100, but any amount will help make a difference. We realize this may not be the best time to ask for donations, but now is when we need them! A particularly generous donation can qualify for recognition at one of our new sponsor levels. See https://www.therapeiontrc.com/donate
2. Share this appeal with others.
Remind them that because Therapeion is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, donations are tax-deductible.
3. Give continuously.
See our post about how you can give “continuously” when you shop at Amazon or Pay Less/Kroger supermarkets: https://www.therapeiontrc.com/post/two-easy-ways-to-support-therapeion. We encourage you to sign up for these programs — it costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time.
4. Shop at the Therapeion Zazzle store.
A small percentage of every sale comes back to our general fund. (We now have a Therapeion-branded fabric mask too!)
