My family will be participating in this year's Virtual Wonder Run 5K, organized by the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC), by hitting the streets of Wellesley to raise funds for two organizations with critical monetary needs now as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Second Step Program and Family Promise Metrowest (details on each partner listed below).
I have been a member of the WHJWC for four years now and I have been grateful to serve on the board this year as the VP of Charitable Giving. Since we cannot raise money through our normal fundraisers, like the Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour and Wonder Run (originally scheduled as part of Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend on Sunday, May 17th), we are trying to continue to support the local charities that are near and dear to our hearts.
Please join me and my family in running or walking your own personal 5K by joining my team, or simply donate to help me reach my fundraising goal! Help us raise $1000 towards the WHJWC's goal of $15,000 that will go directly to Family Promise MetroWest and The Second Step. Any amount is appreciated!

The Second Step
The WHJWC has been working with and volunteering regularly at Second Step where domestic violence survivors are experiencing not only an increased risk of abuse, but also increased isolation and difficulty escaping danger. Second Step has been adapting their services in response to the current situation and are working closely with survivors to identify essential needs, connect them with resources and provide support. They need us now more than ever and funds raised from our Virtual Wonder Run will go towards their "Survivors Emergency Fund."
Family Promise Metrowest
Do you know that 8 years old is the average age of someone that is homeless in Massachusetts? The mission of Family Promise Metrowest is to transform the lives of families with children who are homeless by mobilizing a diverse community to provide shelter, education and comprehensive support. Due to COVID-19, they've had to adapt their usual method of sheltering families, which comes at a higher cost. The families they serve are also facing new unemployment. Please join us to raise critical funds to help their mission during this crisis.
