This foundation is dedicated to my cousin, Panayotis (Panago) Alexandrous Horton. He was a person with epilepsy and lost his life due to sepsis on August 22, 2017. Panago was an activitist and community advocate. In 2012 he began his service with AmeriCorps creating an after school program at Jason Lee Middle School in Tacoma, Washington. The foundation keeps his memory and passion for equity alive by donating Back-To-School Supply Drive materials and the Panago Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship is given to those that demonstrate their commitment to social justice and equity.
Panago's mother, Georgia, is an avid runner. We talked about running races together in the future. I will run the New York City Half in memory of Panago and present my finisher medal to his mother.
