The Orange Effect Foundation needs to fund one year of consistent speech therapy for 60 children.
When children need speech therapy and the family can't afford it...they go without. When children need speech therapy and they don't receive it, the results could be devastating.
One year of speech therapy (one session per week) costs approximately $2,500. For 60 kids, we need to raise $150,000.
Even a $50 dollar donation can cover one session...and even one session can make a difference!
Fund a child = $2500
Fund a child for 1/2 Year = $1250
Fund an hour = $50
There Are More Joshuas
The video is the story of Joshua. At the age of two, Joshua was diagnosed on the autism spectrum. He could only speak in grunts and squeals.
With the help of aggressive speech therapy, Joshua was able to go to regular kindergarten by six-years-old, and was able to go to school without a tutor by the age of eight.
Today (as you'll see in the video) Joshua is a senior in high school deciding which university to attend next year.
Without consistent speech therapy, where would Joshua be right now?
Joshua was lucky...his family could afford speech therapy. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of families in the United States who cannot (and insurance won't cover it either).
In many cases, their last resort is help from organizations like OEF, through the support of people like you!
